Gasshuku Czech Republic 2009 Gasshuku Czech Republic 2009 was held 3.-6.7.2009 in Prachatice, organized by Karatedo klub Tsunami Prachatice together with SKP Hvezda Karlovy Vary under the favour of Czech union karate JKA. Event was organized under the kind patronage of RNDr. Jan Zahradník, Governor of the Region of South Bohemia.

Instructors appearing at Gasshuku 2009 were Kazuhiro Sawada, Tatsuya Naka, Shinji Akita a Koichiro Okuma.

Kazuhiro Sawada

Kazuhiro Sawada Kazuhiro Sawada, 7th DAN JKA

International instructor in Belgium.

Sensei Sawada Kazuhiro was born in Hokkaido, Japan’s northern island, in February 1952. He started practicing karate at high-school, joining afterwards the university karate club at Taisho Daigaku (Taisho University), drilling under the Sensei’s Iida Sensei and Hayakawa’s guidance. He graduated after four years. Because of his energetic approach, Sawada Sensei ends up as the club’s team captain. This Taisho squad won three times the All-Japan University Championship. Sawada sensei was Kanto area (West part of Japan) university champion, and reached twice the finals in the free style University Championship.

Tatsuya Naka

Tatsuya Naka Tatsuya Naka, 7th DAN JKA

Member of Instructors in Japan Karate Association Headquarters. Main instructor in Meguro Junior High/ High School Karate Club. Main instructor in Dokkyo University Karate Club.

Born on 29 May 1964. Started with Wado Kai of 7th level branch Koishikawa. Continues in training on Meguro High School Karate Club and afterwards as a member of Takushoku University Karate Club. Now, as a JKA instructor, he coaches complete training plan for instructors of Japan Karate Association.

Successes :
35. JKA-Championship (1992): 1st place Kumite individuals
43. JKA-Championship (2000): 3rd place Kumite individuals
4. JKA World Shoto Cup Tokyo (1992): 3rd place Kumite individuals

Shinji Akita

Shinji Akita Shinji Akita, 5th DAN Shotokan-ryu

Shinji Akita was born 1965 in Gifu, Japan. He started his traditional Japanese Martial Arts trainings in primary school. He studied Sumo, Kendo and Judo. At the age of twelve he started karate under Matsuda Sensei and Aragane Sensei. At the age of eighteen he joined Takudai Karate Club at Takushoku University and he trained under Tsuyama Sensei until the age of twenty two. During this period he entered many competitions (JKA and JKF) and during his last year at Takudai was selected to be a member of the JKA team.

Shihan Akita came to England in 1988 and he was long time Master Masao Kawasoe's assistant in Great Britain. He has been teaching in prestigious Deutsche JKA Bund's Summer Gasshuku for three years in front line with absolute top Shotokan karate Masters.

Shihan Akita deserves from participants description as “Mr. Motivator”. Inspiring. Teaching with full commitment. Using body, heart and soul.

Now Shihan Akita runs Shotokan Karate Association and is Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate Takushinjuku.
